Sikkim nestled in the eastern Himalayas is witnessing decreased rainfall during the winter months of December and January and extreme downpours in March. To ensure adequate water throughout the winter season National Innovations on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) is helping farmers to save water in artificial ponds.
Nim Tshering Lepcha is one of the farmers who is a beneficiary of the climate resilient farming advocated by NICRA. He lives in Nandok village in East Sikkim, an hour's drive away from the capital Gangtok.
