What the Heck Is a Surface In Jetpack Compose?!

Something I didn't realise - on a Surface, the origin (0, 0) is the middle of the screen, not the top left. So surfaces can mess with you if you're trying to do absolute positioning, depending on how you think about your screen coordinates.

It must be said that I didn't find any other way to choose elevation except using Surface(). So it looks like it is not its benefit but the only way.
