Seafaring is characterized by a unique set of features which sets it apart from other occupations. This includes demanding physical working conditions, potentially hazardous tasks, long hours of work and high levels of stress and fatigue. Seafaring is also described as a 'lonely life'. Not only are seafarers away from family and friends for very long periods of time, many seafarers live isolated lives while onboard. An increasing degree of automation onboard ships has led to smaller crews and crew members may have very different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. In this context, the workforce may be regarded as particularly vulnerable to mental ill health.

Seafarers life is one of the most difficult profiles. As you said captain that you guys stay away from your families and feel isolated most of the times, in that sense recreational approaches are must like indoor games, fitness exercises, and especially what I love the most is music. You guys also carry a guitar which is actually very beautiful thing to have onboard.
Usually, people get connected through music.
Creating a recreational area at the workplace also improves the work culture of the organization: as it helps in breaking the ice between the employees and the boss, making the workplace more relaxed and enjoyable for everybody.
Having a lighter work environment and creating a fun corner helps in keeping the work stress levels low and productivity levels high.
During these hours it also helps to know each others culture, way of living, how people cope with their fears and other worldly issues.
This pandemic no doubt taught us so many things. Being a human and living life at its fullest is also one of them and you guys spend too much time away from your family during these employed years, but that time only colleagues are the ones who can understand what you all are going through, these are all the memories which you gather from time to time, these all are the moments which relax everyone during testing times.
