As of the 1st of July, 2023, a significant shift in parental leave policies has impacted Australian workplaces.

Here’s what you need to know to support your employees and maintain a competitive edge. 👇

Eligible parents can now receive up to 20 weeks of parental leave pay from the government, paid at the national minimum wage.

To qualify, employees must be:

✅ The primary carer of a newborn or adopted child
✅ Meet the work test (working at least 10 of the 13 months before the birth or adoption)
✅ Have an individual adjusted taxable income of $156,647 or less
✅ Be on leave or not working during the paid period

My company asked for submit unpaid parental leave at work but I have a lot of annual leave hours more than 300hours.can I use it before submit unpaid from work. Then, the company from Australia asked me, to apply it with Centrelink to get support from Centrelink. Is that correct? I have no idea how the system going, sorry.
