this song always breaks my heart when its speaks about "children should laugh and live in a peaceful world", what a hellish earth we live in, where all the progress we have made as a species is limited and destroyed by the rule of monsters, were children go hungry, without clothes, without education, all over the world, progressivly, suffering misery and violence and the demoniac brutality of war. This is the world were capitalism has won, and i know to forget the pain that billions of souls exhume, but when i do remember, i just cant stand it

The Soviet Union was the best union that has ever existed on this earth. The people in America and the skeptics worldwide will never understand that. Those born in the USSR back then were some of the luckiest people on earth. I am happy to have been one. The summers spent at the summer camps (pionerskii lageri) was the best part of any soviet child. Tuition-free education, free medicine, free housing to young couples who were recent graduates, New Year gifts to the children provided by the local governments around the winter holidays are the things that everybody remembers well. Kids were happy, parents had the protection of the federal government, everyone had a job. Meanwhile the US government in the “land of the free” was squeezing the last penny from the working class through income taxes. If you tell me that Soviet Union was wrong I will spit you right in the face for being dumb.

Quite interesting, in Russian language (not only, maybe in some other slavic ones) the same word stands for "Peace" and "World" ("Universe", sometimes)
