As a native Swindonian, the rule when navigating the Magic Roundabout is: pick a direction and just drive.

Its like crossing a busy street in India, you have to trust the traffic will flow around you. Very zen.

Even in the aerial footage you can see about 50% of people are so freaking confused that they have no idea what lane to be in.

As an American who drove into Swindon, NO ONE I worked with warned me. I could not figure it out on the spot. I ended up following a car in front of me and going the wrong direction I needed to go to.

It made every other round about much easier to manage though lol

My mate had to do his minibus driving test on the magic roundabout. I cannot imagine a more traumatic experience 😭

We have the best roundabout here. Worst roundabout? Clearwater Beach, FL. Four lane highway dumps into a two lane roundabout with six roads attached randomly, surrounded by businesses with driveways, and not much bigger than a normal intersection. Turn lanes sometimes?And it's the only way on or off the entire island.
