Here is the infamous Moon River Song sung by Audrey Hepburn in the film Breakfast at Tiffany's! In this spot on Breakfast at Tiffany's, Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) plays on her classical guitar and sings Moon River, a score written by Henri Mancini just for this movie. Paul is busy typing his new book and over hears Holly singing and goes to check it out. Holly doesn't realize that he's listening to her until after the song. She looks up to him, a little surprised, and smiles a big smile.

Henry Mancini wrote "Moon River" specifically for Audrey Hepburn. He later said that while many version of the song have been done, he feels that Audrey's was the best.

"Moon River" is a song composed by Henry Mancini with lyrics written by Johnny Mercer. It received an Academy Award for Best Original Song for its first performance by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. It also won Mancini the 1962 Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Mercer the Grammy Award for Song of the Year. The song has been covered by many other artists.

Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way
Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me
Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossin' you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way
Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after that same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me

There was once a very lovely, very frightened girl. She lived alone except for a nameless cat.

Does anyone else love it when she looks up, smiles, and says hi? She was such a class act

Audrey’s voice is so real and truthful. That was her charm. U can learn to sing with that kind of feeling. Better singers yes. Anything else that honest. No chance.

"Breakfast at Tiffany's"--where the 50s ended and the 60s began! Even in blue jeans and with a towel wrapped around her head--Audrey Hepburn was the most elegant creature on God's Green Earth! She was an icon of my childhood, and my sisters and I never missed a movie of hers--whether playing on the big screen or on TV. I had the distinct honor and privilege of seeing her perform in Philadelphia in 1990 during the UNICEF "Concert for Life" tour. She read from "The Diary of Ann Frank", while accompanied by Michael Tilson Thomas and The New World Symphony. It was a once in a lifetime experience for me, and Miss Hepburn was just as elegant and magnetic a star as she was during her Hollywood heyday. I still can't believe that she died less than three years after I saw her in concert. I think she gave her all in the cause of helping underprivileged and starving children throughout the world. She certainly put UNICEF back on the map, back to the heights that it had enjoyed while Danny Kaye was its Goodwill Ambassador during the 1960s.

That glance looking up after “me” then the “hi” is the absolute most beautiful thing my eyes have ever seen.
Breath taking and gut wrenching.

Thank you. I am dealing with a lot of medical issues (side effects from fighting advanced cancer, brain tumor, etc.). While I am more than holding my own I just got over a very hard week. This song gave me hope. To look for my rainbow’s end. And to hang on. For there is such a lot of world for me to still see. Thank you once again for posting.

Audrey Hepburn was a amazing actress, she had style and grace you don't see today. I was amazed to learn she was in occupied Holland during WWII and saw the horrors of the the Nazi losing a family member. I read the Dutch Girl: Audrey Hepburn and World War II. Amazing person.

When my grandma passed away this song was played at her funeral. It was her favourite song. I heard it yesterday and just stopped where I was. Memories flooded back and I almost cried. Damn, I miss her and wish she was here.
