I should mention that zinc wheel weights (marked z or zn) are a much better and easier source for zinc. Also, It is so much easier to put the battery in a vice, hacksaw a slit down the side, then turn it end for end and tighten the vice to split it open and separate. Easy peasy. Also, it would be useful to mention that only the "heavy duty" batteries have zinc casings.

Nice video, but why waste all that time removing all that manganese dioxide and then not even explain what to do with it? And you never showed the process of melting down the casings either lol.

What are you supposed to do with magnesiumdioxide? I have been doing some resaerch and couldn t find anything telling me how I am suppossed to handle and disapose of it.

Great tip to get free zinc. I wouldn't be melting it down, I'll use it as is in the electroplating process.

You never showed where the zinc was, or what to do with the Manganese (btw, you keep mixing up the words manganese and magnesium -- totally different items)
