I had no idea that Mount Vernon was much more than the mansion until I went there. It's a terrific complex!

I finally got to visit this American treasure in early 2017 and actually got to participate in the wreath ceremony. I honestly had no idea that they did this, and we happened to be in the right place at the right time. It was a very surreal moment stepping inside that tomb, knowing I was literally a foot away from the father of our country. It's an experience I'll never forget.
