What’s your favorite holiday album? You know, the first one that you purposely listen to each year?

One of mine is definitely Harry Connick Jr.’s “Harry for the Holidays” and Harry’s long time tenor man, Jerry Weldon, is a huge reason why.

Jerry was literally my first favorite tenor player. Back in 9th grade my band director hipped me to Harry’s “Blue Light, Red Light” album and I instantly fell in love with Jerry’s playing!

Every year I think “I’ve gotta transcribe that ‘Blue Christmas’ solo!”

So this year I finally did… And I wanted to share it with you... Enjoy!

Even after all these years I still think “I wanna sound like that!” Every time I hear him…

Thanks for the inspiration, Jerry!

Happy Holidays!
