QC breaktrought would put everything on its knees: military communication, banking systems, e-mails etc. so it's definitely not just a Bitcoin problem.
Cryptopgraphy has to be upgraded in all sectors if we want to keep the wheels spinning. BTC will probably be a forerunner on this matter.

If Bitcoin becomes obsolete, then so does pretty much everything else. Now, maybe we can take the position that it's OK because everything will be affected first, but I disagree; it will be chaos, and even if the Bitcoin is safe, all the systems we rely on, including those to access and use our Bitcoin, will be compromised. Bitcoin will be the least of our worries if such a thing were to become a threat.

How Bitcoin Can Be Made Quantum-Resistant
If quantum computing poses a threat, Bitcoin could be updated through a soft fork to replace its current cryptography (ECDSA) with a quantum-resistant algorithm like:

Lattice-based cryptography
Hash-based signatures (e.g., Lamport signatures)
Such an upgrade would require community agreement and potentially a BIP. If consensus isn’t reached, it could lead to a hard fork.
