I just have a question about one of your videos, being long multiplication, as I'm getting stuck on something - when you did the final problem of 759 x 438, which I understood when you put the numbers on top of each other for multiplication, I think it looked like so.

I understood that you had to times 8 with the top numbers, 3 with the top numbers, and 4 with the top numbers to find a part your answer. But when you had another set of numbers, I couldn't understand why it is.

I can understand why 3 is timed with the top numbers, then 4 is timed with the top numbers, but to get the next part of the answer you time 9 with 3 and 9 with 4. Why is it like that?

Why is a box method? It seems more unnecessary if to just multiplying 2 sets of numbers, or multiple sets?
It dont show your work, or is it like a nuclear physicists reasoning or chemistry table graphing.

lol we were taught this back in 4th grade but i'll have to say that this wasn't really useful for us in the longrun. Column method is way more convenient

This is the epitome of reinventing the wheel but adding five more steps to it. This does not help children learn. In fact it does the opposite. Kids have to unlearn this when they get older and learn the traditional and faster method to multiplication. I watched my 11-year-old get confused after learning traditional multiplication in the next grade. Stop the madness.
