Reveille | Cadets of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy

This is the first installment of my latest project, a series of videos about the routine of the cadets from the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA), the premiere maritime institution of the country.

This series will be a big help to those who are aspiring to enter the Academy so that they could have an idea of what to expect in case they qualify.

This episode shows the activities during Reveille.

Chief MAKOi Seaman VLOG

On a side note, military training is part of the training program of PMMA because the cadets are required to be commissioned as officers in the Philippine Navy Reserve. This was patterned after the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kingspoint. And even before that, military training was introduced to the school way back when it was handled by graduates of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis.

PMMAer ka ren pala. my brother graduated from PMMA as well years years ago. anyways, he was once a chief engine too like you pero superintendent sya ngayon, ship inspection na lang sya para shorter lang ang stay sa barko. baka close to retirement na nga ren.
