MLB please, please, please, stop showing the winning team in the thumbnail. It takes all the fun out of watching the highlights. I have found this is a common problem for many fans who can't watch full games but love baseball. Not knowing who won makes watching the highlights so much more exciting! (See how the NBA does their thumbnails.)

Those third strike calls on Ohtani were B S. One of the third strike calls was on a ball that was clearly below the strike zone, the other one outside. That umpire should have his pay withheld.

If it's difficult for umpires to make accurate decisions, I think it's time to change the system. A wrong decision can affect a player's performance and the outcome of a match.

There is a need for a system that keeps umpires motivated to make more accurate calls, such as by rewarding correct calls with bonus points.

Umpires call on strikes/Balls should be allowed to challenge. There is a reason baseball is not generating new fans compared to other sports. Umpiring can be pathetic sometimes.

A quality start for Hernandez is pretty surprising, I didn’t even know who this guy was until now. Not sure why he was chosen, you’d think one of our already proven pitchers would be ready but oh well. Can’t complain much from that start, and if the dodgers can make this guy a good back of the rotation arm, good for him.

the umps calls on some balls/strikes were head scratchers but it was l.a.'s inability to get the clutch hits that killed 'em

I agree with everyone who’s talking about the bad calls by the umpire. Obviously they can’t be perfect, but that was twice that it resulted in Ohtani walking back to the dugout. He was shaking his head too, but props to him for taking it.
　Still, though, the Dodgers managed to not get shut out, and it’s yet another game where they allowed no more than four runs. That, uh, could come in handy in October.
