Imagine the Atlantic Ocean without the British Isles - without England, Scotland or Wales. France would dominate the English Channel and Ireland would have the whole island to herself.

French was the main language for science and culture before English. Spanish would be used for business for example. Canada and north America was mainly colonized by France until the seven years war so they would still exist whiteout British.
A lot of greats inventions were born in France, Germany or Russia and USA, so Industrial Revolution could still occurred without Britain.

There is very little chance that Portugal would even exist due to the fact that Portugal really only survived Spain because of UK protection
