I own the Sennheiser Momentum 4 in black, I agree it is the best value! I tried and owned the Bose QC 45, tried the sony XM5etc. The Momentum 4 has by far the best sound quality! No other headphone has the 60-hour battery life of the Momentum 4 and the Microphone is very good for phone calls, I wish the Momentum 4 had Bose's Noice cancelling! For those watching old reviews, please know that there is an update that fixes all issues mentioned within the early reviews of the Momentum 4.

I agree 100%, John! I own the PX8 and Bathys and love them both - very much! But I find myself reaching more for the Momentum IVs. They just sound soooo good!!! They were great when I first put them on, but they grow on me even more the more I listen to them.

What a great value in Bluetooth headphones they represent in 2022!

I own this M4 for a month and having a lot of issue, I’m surprised that none of the issue even mentioned! I work along side with the construction crews indoor with a noisy environment, it cut down the noise which is great. Yes, I installed latest Sept firmware 2.9.12 right after I purchased. I wear this head set at least 8 hours a day even though I work 10 hours. The unit worked good for a week with all touch function worked. I do say the fast forward function is a miss and hit! What I meant is, there are time it won’t skip forward. It sounds great but the bugs starting to pop out: It will turn itself off if you hook up two devices from time to time; it didn’t happen before. I love the feature when you pull the right head set out off your ear, it will stop playing any song, it worked last night and now today. Last night I couldn’t turn it on, a bit of google search and solved the issue by holding down the power for 20s to reboot. The pause and double tapping (noise cancellation) worked well. The touch function can be a nightmare, it is not base on your finger touching like the touch screen off an iPhone. My hoodie will touch it and it will either be pausing or doing other weird shit, it is very irritating! When you power it on or off, it never tell you it is on or off mode; it will tell you it is connected. Here you are trying to listen if you are connected even though it is not powered on! I like the sound but the bugs are really troublesome, if you can live with all this issue then it is for you. Yes the battery life is a bonus but I don’t buy this head set base on this. Sennheiser really need to update another new firmware, I got till early next year before returning it back; meanwhile I will have to live with it!

Yeah, thank you John! Now you know, why the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless are my favourite pair of Bluetooth ANC headphones. I also prefer them over the Sonys. And I had a chance to try the B&W, and again my preference are the Sennheiser. Unfortunately I don't have a chance to try the Focal Bathys. I own the their Celestee, which I really love.
A feature of the Sennheiser you didn't even mention (I know, time is limited), is their capability to connect them via USB-C and listen and charge simultaneously.

Thanks, great review. After watching several other videos on headphones, it amazed me how little they talked about the actual sound quality from them rather concentrating on features. Yes, features are important, but at the end of the day, it's all about the sound for me...

Sorry if I’m late to the party. Just bought my first Sennheiser Momentum 4 and I freaking love it. The audio is amazing, the ANC is brutal for my use and they are fantastic on terms of battery. This was the video that actually made me buy it, so thank you very much for the opinions and this video.

This review was refreshingly accurate. I’ve owned all the generations of Sonys, and switched to the M4’s last year. I love these things for all the reasons the reviewer mentioned. He didn’t miss a thing, and there were a lot of observations he made that no other reviewers seemed to notice (maybe because of bias on their part).

When I saw this review about a year ago I decided to wait for M4 to go down in price and get them. And I finally did, few days ago. The sound is quite good. But ANC is practically non-existing on M4! I had to double check if I had transparency mode engaged by mistake but to my dissapointment ANC was correctly activated. All these small subtle sounds that you can hear for instance when living in an old appartment building - weak voices from neighbours speaking, tv-sounds, you know - subtle, distant "appartment building everyday sounds" will defeat the ANC on M4. On all other ANC headphones (in-ear or over ear) I own or have owned, even a 5 yr good old, worn down Sony WH1000XM3 (that i actually wanted to replace with M4) - as soon I hit the power button these background sounds would dissapear immidiately and i would get that "secure / isolated" feeling. Very dissapointed with my purchase (the in-ears TWS4 that I also own are great, though). I'll see if i can return them and ask for refund.

i want to add something for anyone considering the sennheiser: they have one big minus (at least for me), the touch function cannot be disabled permanently, everytime you restart the headphones it is turned on again. if i knew that, i wouldnt have bought them, because the touch is also very sensitive and you accidently pause the music everytime you adjust your headphones or your hair touches it or whatever. everything is else is TOP and for those who dont mind the touch function, thats of course not a problem at all

The thing that striked me the most: "this headphone sounds like a stereo system". When I listened the first few times, exactly that came to mind. Spot on review! 👌

I purchased these a few weeks ago and I agree with your review entirely. They've replaced my Momentum 3's which have now been sold. They have much better ANC and are lighter and more comfortable than the 3's which had only 17 hours battery life! All in all the 4's are a major upgrade on the 3's. Better ergonomics and much better sound quality. I'm still smiling after 5 weeks of owning them and it's reassuring to know that you rate them so highly. A spot on review - thanks and all the best for the New Year in warmer climes.

The quality of the bass is very well described here. Great sound and super battery life, been using them weeks without charging. You can use the headphones while charging and connect two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. The noise cancelling is magic. No regrets, proud owner.
