THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN huge thank you to Phoebe, Sarah and Angela - all 3 of you KILLED IT on this one. I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

WHY DID I NOT TRANSLATE THE

2 reasons - Firstly, it's insanely catchy and I felt the song was stronger by keeping it in. Secondly, that line is full of Japanese wordplay that honestly just doesn't localise well into english (which is why I'm certain the localization team chose to go with "My Deer Friend Nokotan" as the title for the show). I don't feel I would've done it justice by adapting it - and then we wouldn't get shikonoko nokonoko koshitantan :(( This reddit post does a great breakdown of it - I highly recommend giving it a read!


Also thirteenthangel was literally like hey I wanna animate the spiderman dance for all of the characters for you?? So like damn dude I'm so lucky to have her onboard helping make sick videos. I can't praise everyone who worked on this one enough <3

This is my first time hearing this song in English and there are some unhinged lines in this song that I had no idea about!!! “It’s shining, it’s shining ever so brightly now. I like how yall followed the same line distribution as the original version! Rui Tanabe's performance as Anko during her parts in the OP is favourite so seeing her English VA doing a stellar job on the same lines is so surreal and cool! Hope this gets more attention from the internet

Just have to say mad respect for the translator, i love what they did to the lyrics, my favorite one is the one that says "Are you a fated trial that i have been bestowed my deer" in 1:19, the direct translation would be something along the lines of "Are you perhaps my fated one, my deer" but your improvisation is just so lovely, it keeps the original meaning and also makes it fun to sing too, keep up the good work.
