They are easy to care for and very low maintenance, which means they often thrive from neglect. They require very little watering, can do well in any lighting conditions, and don’t’ need to be fertilized or repotted often. These plants are also great for beginners and those looking to add some green into their home but don't want all the hassles when it comes to taking care of plants. But, you also want to be able to say you’re a successful ‘plant dad or plant mom’ amongst your planty friends. Enjoy.

What kind of plant parent are you? Are you the more of the loving too much type or the often neglect your plants type?

“These plants can thrive in the kind of love you give them...

which is neglect”

You didn’t have to call me out like that 😅🤣

Peace lilly is great for beginners. It communicates very well when it needs water. Mine serves as a lifeguard for all the other plants. When it starts looking sad, it is time to water them all.

I started out as wanting low maintenance plants, but in a short time (during pandemic stay home) I brought a Maiden Hair Fern. I have fallen in love with my plants. I enjoy your humor. I like how your place is neat not too planty. Nice job with your channel.

I'm a hovering plant mom. I have 23 plants (started with about 12 since quarantine😂) and I like to check on them regularly.

Oh, I guess I’m the loving concern parent always checking daily all my over 200+ plants. Some I fuss over more touching even kissing and hugging and I’m always singing and talking to them. Others that likes to be left alone well still have to at lest put up with my singing. I will at least look over them and I may sometimes force a kiss on them like my hoyas. Lol! Honestly ever since I started hugging, kissing talking playing gentle music, my plants have been truly thriving. I didn’t think it was true, but it sure is.

Christian, your collection has grown so much within the past year it's amazing! You went from more fairly common houseplants to anthuriums and rare philodendrons! You've gained alot of experience in little time, and it shows!

Plants are a lot like people, aren't they? Some are very sensitive and needy of attention and care, and some are able to stand some neglect without suffering much. As you are pointing out, it is important to get the right type of plant for your personality and style of care. Some plants will feel smothered by too much attention, but others need it to thrive. "There's always a 'plant' perfect for you." This is a very hopeful video. Thank you again. 💖

BTW, I'm attentive to my plants, but I discipline myself to give them care according to their needs. Sometimes it's hard because I want to interact more--which is why I think it is tempting to continue to collect plants--and I worry a little about whether I'm doing all the right things, but they are doing well, growing now. Even if they don't need anything, they are always there to look at, so that's a consolation, and I really enjoy propagation. You asked! LOL

I'm getting more and more into plants and I'm actually better at caring for them now 😊

Btw: Try talking a lil slower, it'll make the video more relaxed and easier to follow, especially for non native English speakers 🙆‍♀️

Yeah, now I need a zz zenzi and a hoya vietnam 😅

I am definitely a hovering plant parent. I watch my babies like a hawk, take care of the basics, but I do trust them to give me some signs if they need anything.

I've found that my ficus elastica, dieffenbachia, pothos, sanseveria and monstera deliciosa require very little attention. Plus, I have a bunch of lucky bamboo in a vase that pretty much takes care of itself 😂
