Thanks I just started growing figs. Got 2 cutting rooted and growing just up potted them and now I know how to winter them over. I didn't get fruit this year but hope next year I will. I am not sure what variety I have but I will look it up and try to figure that out. Thanks again.

Nice information that fig naturally drop all it leaves during winter when in the state of dormant compared to citrus.

My garage stays 65-75° during the winter. Outside gets down to 15° sometimes at night & up to 60° during the day.

Would keeping them alive with grow lights in my situation be best?

I am in Zone 5B and all of my fig trees in containers still have their leaves. It is scheduled to get down to 17 degrees this weekend. Should I bring the trees in even though their leave are still green and have not fallen off?

Got me first fig tree in June, it's just a baby. I was going to over winter outside but now I'm thinking the garage. It's heated but only to 35-40. Is that to cold?

My problem in zone 4 is I don’t have a cool place to put it where it will stay dormant but also not get below 20 degrees F. Zone 4 winters regularly get below 0 in an unheated garage and my basement is heated.
