So basically the Rick Nash trade built both teams for the next decade. Crazy

Looking back at this, Pavel Buchnevich, Ryan Strome, Ryan Lindgren, K’Andre Miller, Mika Zibanejad, Morgan Barron, Brendan Smith, and (indirectly) Artemi Panarin were all a part of this trade tree, and were all very vital to the Rangers this past season.

The signing of “thank you” at the end of the video is neither unnoticed nor unappreciated. It brings me back to watching Flyers games with my late brother who was hard of hearing and me signing the play-by-play. So thanks for the smile.

(ETA: I know we could have put subtitles on, but it was something my dad did until he kind of lost interest in the sport, and it was great practice for me when I was younger)

I miss Rick Nash. He had that concussion in '15-'16 (I think) and was never the same after that

Watching this now, as Chinakov has been looking mighty good his first 10 periods with the Blue Jackets. Always fun to look back on

As a Columbus fan, I enjoyed this trip down memory lane.

One note about McQuaid: it wasn't that he wasn't a fit. He took a hit to the head a few games into his time here and it ended up ending his career.

Fun trade-related fact about McQuaid: he was drafted by the Blue Jackets in 2005 then later traded to Boston for a pick that Columbus would later flip to Dallas and which was used by the Stars to select Jamie Benn.
