When FIFA 17 came out with "The Journey" I was skeptical at first. An RPG element to a sports game? At first I thought it would be a poor excuse of a feature, but once I played the first ten minutes I was hooked. Alex Hunter's journey is ours. We see what it would be like to join the world's finest footballers and after I finished it on '17 I thought that was it, and I yearned for more.

'18 continues Alex Hunter's journey to greatness, and it was even better than '17. It was compelling, added real drama into it that could happen to footballers even now. Alex makes amends with his father, and halfway into The Journey, we take a glimpse into the journeys of two other young stars destined for greatness - Danny Williams, Alex's mate, and Alex's half-sister Kim Walker. Playing from their perspectives was amazing and I was blown away that I could play as them, especially Kim Hunter. Let's give the devs credit for giving us a FIFA game where we could play as a female player, which is a first from my limited knowledge of EA Sports games. It made the story fresh and invigorating and you slowly begin to give a damn about these characters, especially Kim Hunter. I cannot help but adore her.

I give The Journey an 9/10. I cannot wait for '19 or potential DLC expansions to see what is in store for Alex Hunter.

They did it again... The player has no real power over Alex Hunter's journey. You have to leave your club, you have to move to LA, you have to come back. And those key decisions? Useless! With or without Michael you get Coca-Cola contract and come back to Europe. Friendship with Henry - what was that? Does it have any influence on the scenario at all? To be honest, I am disappointed with EA.

The prem league team treats Alex like shit. They put him on loan and he comes back to win them the league but when it's the other way around and Alex wants to leave they force him into this shitty situation.

I've been a basketball fan more than football all my life and up until now, I've played every single NBA 2K game since 2010. But the thing is, 2K has never been as engaging as FIFA is for the last 2 years. I can say this clearly, last year and this year's stories, the way they are being told, they are brilliant! Good job FIFA!
