apple just forced themselves to have at least 16gb of ram on their next MacBook airs

From 2014-2016 I worked at “Happy Mac” diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading Intel Mac hardware issues.
In many — if not most— cases, I was telling customers to EITHER 1. open less apps at once, less web tabs at once, and reduce items on the desktop (as RAM was used to make “Quick Look” available for all desktop files, OR 2. upgrade the RAM. These days, the RAM is not upgradable (or difficult & risky to upgrade)

Microsoft in the 80s: 640kb ram should be enough for everyone.
Apple in the 2020s: 8gb ram should be enough for everyone.

I'm not going to lie, the fact that apple is still putting a measly 8gb of ram inside their $1000 Macbooks is just outrageous in my opinion. I've kinda always wanted an apple silicone macbook but couldn't due to the pricing, winning the Giveaway would be really nice ;)

This video popped up in my main page after just a few searches. I was trying to decide which Macbook and iPhone to get and you made things clear really quick: any M chip with 16Gigs of RAM. I always thought that amount of RAM would future-proof my laptop-to-be, but I never expected it to be needed so damn fast. I feel like M1 Macs came yesterday.
