Rachel McAdams Turned Down ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Role

“The Devil Wears Prada” almost had a different leading lady! Rachel McAdams was originally the actress film execs wanted to sign as the loveable Andy. Cast and crew from the hit movie came together to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the film, and Director, David Frankel, told Entertainment Weekly that the actress turned down the role three times. “The studio was determined to have her, and she was determined not to do it,” he said.

She had no idea how lucky she is, over 100 actress was considered and she TURNED IT DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES, & mission impossible and Iron Man, like how many female celeb get a chance like that? Privileged people

To be honest, I'm really glad Rachel turned it down because Anne is more fit for the role. I'm happy it was Anne.

Both ladies are fantastic actresses, BUT I think both ladies are too pretty to play the role. It’s just too unrealistic. I remember when Miranda ( Streep) once expressed disappointment on Andie and said she regretted hiring a smart “fat” girl as her assistant, i was like what part of Andie (Hathway) was fat?? She’s so slim and model looking! Anne looks like a glamorous chic girl who is pretending to be ordinary. I’m just not convinced by Anne’s appearance. Rachel is also not a good choice. Again it’s not about acting ability.
