when you mix RGB
R absorbs GB,
G absorbs RB,
B absorbs RG.

Mix of RGB is reflecting less and absorbing more.
To be precise 33.333% is getting reflected of RGB paint mixture. That's why it looks darkish grey.

But when you do same thing with light, one colored light do not absorb other colored lights so the reflection percentage is 100%.
Thus you see bright white light and not dull greyish light.

In actuality,  no mix of other hues will result in white paint. The reason behind this is that whatever paint you use will soak in at least some wavelength. A common misconception is that we can combine all the colors in the rainbow (red, blue, green, yellow, violet, indigo, and orange) to produce white. But You can easily perform Newton's Reverse Rainbow Experiment to make white color by combining all the rainbow colors which is also known as ' SPECTRUM '.

RGB are primary ADDITIVE colors. CYM/RYB are primary SUBTRACTIVE colors. Paints are subtractive colors, light is additive.

The palette or whatever that was where they showed which colors will mix to make which,
Was about light if we mix red light, blue light, and green light we will get smth like white light cus white light carries all the colors of the rainbow
But if u want to do it with pigments you should try with red, blue, and yellow it will be smth near white
But it depends on the amount of colors you add and what shade you use
The amount should be the same for it to work

I think because in where you mix them. If you mix all the primary colors into a dark backround it become white. While if you mix them at light backround it will become brown black something like that. Im not sure !

Red, Green, Blue primary for light (monitor)
Red, Yellow, Blue primary for paint (magenta, yellow, cyan for printer)

Print and monitor use different primary colours, This reason why we can get same colour from monitor to print

Mixing with primary colors will not give you White color properly. because it is shadow color ( white, black ) and as primary colors make colors shadow colors also does. And in a color wheel black is not allowed for some reasons therefore it just shows white . Primary colors are ( red, blue, yellow) not green
Thanks if helpfull

It applies only for light
And these colours ( primary colours ) are called complementary colours of light.
