People don't realize the work involved in finishing floors. You and your husband are doing an amazing job. It is turning out beautifully.

So much angst over the color! The floors look gorgeous! I definitely would not be sad about the color. My husband and I refinished the floors in our 1936 bungalow before we moved in 2 years ago (and we are in our 60s). Ours were in much worse condition than yours and had some stains that simply could not be removed. I am okay with that. They have scars and age spots just like we do. Embrace the imperfections and learn to love them. Once all of your furnishings and area rugs are back in place, your home will be beautiful and warm. Several coats of poly are a definite must. Otherwise, you will need to refinish them AGAIN in just a few years! You saved yourself thousands of dollars by doing them yourselves. Make yourself stop looking at them in such a critical way so that you can enjoy them. Blessings!❤

When my husband and I started to redo our floors we ended up sitting in the corner and crying called a professional and had beautiful floors without the red. Kudos to y'all for hanging in there. They are beautiful!

Finding your video was much like getting a needle in a haystack. Our flooring project has been a nightmare which resulted in sanding the floors two times!!! I didn’t do testing, only going off stain samples. After initial application it looked amazing until it dried and I had a glorious orange floor which resulted in a very dated era. I cried and ate tons of chocolate snd Chinese food saying I’ll just have to live with this. After 24 hours I found myself going for round 3 renting all the machinery again, the costs of doing it “ourselves” has now exceeded having a professional do it. This is the lesson of trail and error and super grateful I stumbled upon your video where you walked me through all my concerns and gave me a cheat sheet to truly get those beautiful floors we’ve been wanting. Thank you is too little of a word but is mighty!

Andrea sweetie - I love the color of your floors ! On camera they don’t look orange at all - they may be a little darker than you wanted, but unless you have like a beach house, I think a medium color “grounds” everything - they’re certainly not overly dark looking to me - and I don’t see any orange tones at all - you & your husband are quite amazing ! 🥰
