Mud Bug Boiling: The 2018 Crawfish Cook

I boil up a sack of crawfish. My wife asked me not to make them too spicy this time because some young children would be joining us. Normally I would have added at least a quart or liter of liquid seafood boil and maybe more salt. These were good, just a little tame for my taste but I like them very spicy. I did add about a pint more of the spice toward the end of the soak stage. These weren’t very spicy but that was the goal. I recommend adding liquid boil if you want them really spicy. I used fresh corn not frozen.

Loyd would be in heaven, he can eat a whole mess of them. We keep saying we’re gonna have a crawfish boil but we haven’t yet. Thanks for sharing😃

That is always a LONG 30 minutes of soak time. Love them bugs! I like the weenie/ hotdog idea!

Awe, I love me some crawdad. Like you, I want them spicy and full of flavor. I don't eat that mud vein either, never did LoL. Great video Lew!

Awesome boil bro. I like mine a bit more spicy too. Do you purge yours or just wash? I hear mixed opinions about it. But I have to remove the vein. Like in Tommy Boy some look like you just got them after Thanksgiving feast. LOL!

Awesome cook.

Our traditional crawfish is boiled in dill, beer and fennel seeds. I prefer the way you make it better though!

BIG It took me an hour to watch this. I got called four times and text three. But I got it all watched, anyhow you should’ve thrown that catfish in there too that would have been good. I love them little mud bugs. Do you eat The claws?
