In today’s session, we are going to discuss one of the best tanks on earth originated from France, the Leclerc Tank. If you don’t want to miss crucial information on this topic, stay with us until the end of this video.
The Leclerc main battle tank (MBT) is a 57-tonne tracked machine manufactured by Nexter Systems, a French state-owned weapons manufacturer (previously known as Giat Industries). It can fire arrows, explosives, and canisters in both stationary and mobile modes.
The MBT is in service with the French Army and the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces (UAE). In September 2001, the French Army placed the final order for 52 Leclerc tanks, bringing the total order to 406 tanks (plus 20 armored recovery vehicles). In October 2007, deliveries were completed. As of May 2021, the French Army possessed a fleet of 200 Leclerc tanks. The UAE ordered 390 tanks and 46 armored recovery vehicles (ARVs). The tanks and ARVs were delivered respectively in 2004 and 2008

His main advantage is to be able to shoot at maximum speed with a highly mobile target, the electronic and algorithms running the shot are the best currently by far.

when i was doing my national service in UAE, we used to called it the Mercedes of the armored vehicles, 's we got used to the simplicity and the roughness of the bmb-3 and we envy the Leclerc crew members with their A/C and technology, magnificent tank to see in pers

The French build high tech warships, fighter aircraft and tanks along with their space program. May they long remain a great Western nation and democracy.

Probably the best fed crew. I’ve worked with the French army and the rankers cookhouse serves wine with lunch! 🍷

Did they actually miss to mention the fact it needs 1 less crew member compared to other competing tanks ?!? Thanks to the auto reload mechanism.

I love it when at 8:36, one tank crew member says :"Ah, c'est de la merde !". I think he's referring to the gas mask he's wearing, ...not to the tank.

Thanks. Nice video. It was quite interesting.
BTW, the French language is tricky and the final C in Leclerc is actually silent. :)

Leclerc tanks are the most comfortable tanks around, it’s important to be comfortable when you blow up something 😏

France has always built the best or some of the best tanks in the world.

1- Nothing incredible, France invented and created the modern tanks.
Let's stop with this joke of the first tank that of the English in 1916, it was only a cannon mounted on motorized tracks surrounded by iron plates. Besides, the French had the same type of fake-tank before the English in 1915, it is just the old Anglo-Saxon propaganda in the field since 1945 which there also changed the history for its own false benefit (see for example the French fake-tank Schneider CA1).
The first real tank and ancestor of all current modern tanks is the French tank RENAULT FT17 in 1917.
The "Tank of Victory", because it is them the Renault FT17 that the French army launched in charges by the hundreds and hundreds from 1917 which will smash the German lines on the western front (the German newspapers of 1918 will even explain the defeat on the Western front because of the "Fear of tanks").

2- At the beginning of WW2 the best medium and heavy tanks in the world were not German or Russian but French.
The only technological fault of France, which was too busy with major internal social problems between 1935 and 1938, was to embark too late on preparing for the inevitable war given the aggressiveness of the Nazi and Fascist dictatorships, and at the start of WW2 its front-line tanks were not all equipped with radios.
But that's not what explains the defeat of the Franco-British in June 1940, but the very poor use of its very good tanks by the French general staff. He grouped them into small units to support the infantry against the huge German tank divisions which, allied with their aviation would allow them their Blitzkrieg.
It is said in France logically here, that blocked in 1918 when the French Army was the most powerful army in the world at the end of WW1, the French general staff had not been able to evolve and had been a war late at the beginning of WW2...
And France was not an island like England-UK and did not have time to catch up on its strategic mistakes at the start of WW2.
But if France had prepared in time and better, and had therefore not lost in June 1940 to fight until 1945, I would have liked to see the French tanks in 1945... They would have been monsters without problems at the level or even better than the German or Russian tanks.

It is therefore normal that once its freedom was regained in 1945 and its military industry rebuilt a little later, France began again to build very good tanks among the best or even the best in the world. The French have known how to make them for a long time, they are the ones who invented them.

What's really good about this Chain is that he will look for real information sooner than rumors about the French in the Second World War

Sorry, Leclerc isn't able to compete with German Leopard... NATO-meetings prove it nearly everytime. Last time: Place 1, 2 and 3 to Leopard-crews from Germany and 2 other countries operating Leopards.

considering present circumstances the French Army needs no less than 463 additional Leclerc (Block IX) main battle tanks . . . ofcourse the Leclerc (Block IX) will have to be upgraded as well over the years . . .

@200 of France’s 406 total LeClercs are currently in storage.

Great tank with combat experience in the service of the UAE. 200 total active tanks with the French army are not nearly enough for France to intimidate Russia or anyone else. France needs to spend more on its defense budget.

Ever since the start of the Russian invasion into Ukraine, I now view every MBT with skepticism. I’m like: how many Javelins can it take?
