No, he didn't found a religion, he created a philosophy to live in harmony and peace with the world, he never asked people to worship him, people often make buddha statues to honor him.

Im Christian, Im not really insecure of defending buddhism because its not another false religion, just a quasi-religious philosphy.

I still believe that only Jesus can bring true peace, but Buddha did nothing wrong for us to make fun of him and his followers.

If you want to convert buddhist to christianity then go to talk to them personally and not through a comment section.

Buddhism is clearly seeking for inner peace.Not just peace. When the person won his inner battle of constant thoughts and feelings. He becomes peaceful like still water but fresh. He can control what he is feeling. When each individual knows how to control emotions like anger, lust, jealousy, fear there is no wars between people. So the society becomes peaceful. No one can make your mind calm and clear unless you. YOU are the one who knows about YOU the best. And yes we can't limit Lord Buddha's words into a religion or a philosophy. It is a way to understand about You and lead your own path.

Both are beings that couldve been perfect from the beginning but both chose to go through a path of suffering in order to save and teach mankind.

Both Buddha and Jesus taught love and compassion. But my personal favorite is Buddha. Never in his entire life Buddha showed or expressed any form of violence. He found the ultimate way to end all suffering, and taught it. He was a man worshiped by gods. His teachings are extraordinary.

As a buddhis seeing the christian misconception of our religion is painful so im here to clear some doubts

1. Buddhism: isnt centered around Buddha, its idea is to end suffering for all life to live in peace and harmony for a better world now and in the afterlife

2. We dont force people to follow our religion. Its a Philosophy, not just a religion. Its fine if you dont follow our religion, as it is both an idea and an enacrment.

3. Having Many gods doesnt mean we havr conflict. Our sects dont have conflict with each other.

4. We preach for Peace and enlightenment, not for self-centered tomfoolery and barbaric rituals as i see most of yall think we follow.

This is all i want to say. We wont force anyone to join, but just seeing my religion being so brutally downgraded is painful
