Brendon - thanks so much for doing this video. Paul was a good friend - albeit a long time ago. Very sad to hear of his passing. I took lessons from him in the mid 90's for about 4 years. He was a tough-as-nails Welshman with a fantastic approach to teaching: blending solid music theory with great attention to technique. I can still see the gleam in his eye when he taught me Axis Bold as Love - he was a big Hendrix fan. Paul had some amazing stories from the pantheon of rock. He also toured with Ozzy and Randy Rhoads and had pictures on his wall with Joe Elliott holding his newborn son. I actually got to meet Pete Way at his house one day. RIP Paul

You have to wonder if Paul had played with the band in 93, if they would have kept playing. Andy Parker left after the recording of the "Walk On Water" album because of the issues between other band members. If Schenker was not in the band, who knows what we could have had. Oh well!!

Ugh just a horrible year for music. UFO is severely underrated in the US like Thin Lizzy. In the UK they are gods, and deserve to be. Amazing lineups and albums, truly a shame. On a side note, rockin the facial hair, nice 🤟

Mate you need to get some facts right! Paul Chapman does not play on Strangers In The Night! He gets a name check in the linear notes because he'd rejoined the band to help them finish the Obsession tour mid way through November '78. Strangers was released in January '79. The songs that make up Strangers In The Night were recorded from four shows on UFO's US leg of the 1978 Obsession tour between 13th & 18th October. The four shows were Chicago 13th, Youngstown 15th, Cleveland 16th and Kentucky 18th. Schenker's last concert was in Palo Alto on 29th Oct 1978, and the tour ground to a halt. Schenker stayed around to oversee the compiling of songs that were to make up the Strangers album. Paul's first show after rejoinng was in Indianapolis 30th November. You also say Chapman did nothing much after Waysted. He formed Ghost in 1993, they released an album Paul Chapman's Ghost. After that he spent most of his time teaching guitar in Florida, he was not in line to rejoin UFO in the 90's. In 2006 he joined Gator County, a band which featured ex members of Molly Hatchet, he also tour with a Swedish band called Killer Bee in 2017.

I MAY agree that having George Martin’s name may have got them a little exposure but I think the actual production of No Place To Run was a bit much. Would LOVE to here a different mix of that one. I love Martin. No Place to Run was my first UFO and I pretty much got the next 3 as they were released. Definitely like the production on The Wild The Willing, Mechanix and, Making Contact with Chapman better. I just don’t think Martin was the right fit for them. But the four with Chapman are STILL my favorite UFO albums and as such some of my favorite music EVER!! They were as important to me in their own way as that other little band Martin produced records for in the ‘60’s! RIP Paul Chapman
