Yamaha are just making excuses they can't make an R1 because of the emmisions regs in europe, if Ducati can make the V4 pass and make the power they do, I'm sure Yamaha can. They just aren't bothered now and are slowly withdrawing from the market, just like Suzuki and Honda; who've completely lost the plot.

Yea i forget you guys got the R1 shaft. We still get it here in the states. Ive never rode one. Im all Triumph, Duc, Aprilia, and Honda. I did have a R3 once and that was the best bike in its class at the time. Fun but limited to 106mph c'mon

They did say the R1 is discontinued back then, maybe some even explained that it couldn't catch up with the Euro emission regulations. So when a new one showed up, what did they do? Just not sell it in Europe😂

Meeting those strict emissions rules cost money so they probably got tired of it and Europe got bikes that we don’t get in North America

I could care less for Europe it sucks 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m glad we still get the r1 USA thank god! But I want a R6 I wish they would bring that bike back everyone is overpriced them and it sucks. Because I want one bad. But I’ll get an r1 hopefully they will come back out with an r6 🤞🏼🤞🏼😢
