I worked at a dive shop in Key Largo, where the owner/boss rarely came in. But one day he came in before lunch and asked the two or three other staff what they wanted for a sub order. He skipped me...on purpose. He wanted me to have to ask. Later he 'innocently' said "Oh, did I forget you?" He was a real piece of work. I got a better job the next month.
