Just saw Daewon at a demo today and he literally hugged people and signed autographs for three hours straight in 90 degrees wearing a hoodie. It almost made me cry I had to put my sunglasses on

Daewon is a local at my skatepark. I have to pass the skatepark omw to work(9am) and WITHOUT failing, he is always there. True dedication and passion

When I met Daewon like 15 years ago he was definitely one of the most down to earth dudes ever.

Such a great skater and person, back in the early 2000s I saw him at a demo and he literally was like this. I was still young but he treated me like a grown man and he was getting hyped for me for doing a FS 50 50 KF out and getting props from Daewon made me feel like I could do anything. One of the best moments from my first of almost 3 decades of skateboarding now

First video I ever got was Rodney Mullen vs Daewon Song in 97 or 98. Swapped a world industries beanie for the tape 😂. Glad to see him again. Legend.

Daewon is a magician. His unique way of looking at obstacles, along with his unbelievable balance, always makes for amazing clips.

My first demo was black label vs Decca in Australia featuring this guy and Mike vallaley. I was 14.
25 years later and this guy is still going strong!

Demos we're the biggest thing in my day 89'- 96'. It was great to see the dudes on videos skating in front of me.
Then to chat or skate with them was the best part. It pushes everyone there, pros and really good local kids.
Skating blew up at some point, now it's back to a subculture. I'm glad the demos are coming back and inspiring a few kids here and there again.

It's crazy how insane it is how daewon and Rodney both work. Daewon seems more built on crowd energy while Rodney seems fully cerebral about what he's doing.
