"let's go to space, we'll be fine in our wellies!"

Dear lady, the suits were individually tailored. The leg of one of the females (her name evades me) suits had to be enlarged in the knee area. She is a cancer surviver. The most important part of the mission was not mentioned. The mission is to bring attention to, and benefit St. Judes Childrens Hospital, to the tunee of $200 million dollars. High marks to Elon Musk.

Two of the astronauts are fellow alumni of my university. I couldn't be prouder to attend my university and I got to see the launch from an hour away!

Excellent observation and hats off to the smart space suit designers !

To be fair, these aren’t full pressure suits for doing spacewalks etc. they’re only intended for short duration emergency use in a vacuum, so the designer had more leeway for aesthetics.

I totally dig the idea. I immediately thought of the practicality of marking out the difference, not only ID'ing the suit but the wearer. Perhaps we're one step closer to a future where we're all built like swimsuit models, and the mini-tunics, tights and go-go boots of Star Trek become a reality!

Guess we just can not get around it; men and women are different from each other.

I’m a guy but this was a beautiful observation

It's whether they hold pressure or not when the capsule leaks that matters.
2001 had far cooler suits in my humble opinion!

Demi you are wrong ! They are not the first civilians in space. I'm old enough to remember when civilian dogs and run of the mill apes made it to space first. Humans have been lagging behind ever since . . . except in fashion.

The suits are all straight up and down (the grey bits). The women’s suits have an indented white template. Cosmetic only. BTW why is uplift needed in a weightless environment!?

As per your previous video on the Met, let them eat broccoli.
Waistline problem sorted.

I'm neutral on this, but if any are Democrats I don't want them coming back. I'd send up food and some migrants for company, though.

Yes it is strange isn’t it? I don’t think that it’s darted so much as that the side panels are v shaped at the waist. You’re right it’s funny. Cartoonish really. Anyway they’re very lucky people to have this amazing experience. Hope that they return safety.

This is brilliant🧡
I don't see anything wrong with having different space suits. I LIKE being able to tell if a person is male or female by looking at them.
Just a side note; I watch alot of anime and it annoys me no end when you can't tell which gender a character is. I'm a firm believer that women should dress like women and men should dress like men. I hate all this men wearing dresses and women wearing giant business jackets to hide their frames I think it's ridiculous and extremely unattractive.

These women seem quite happy about it.

I think they look rather dapper. It’s a shame there’s no utility belt with ray gun. The aliens they may encounter will look a bit like octopus, spiders or dinosaurs. Terrifying creatures that need blasting with ray guns.
