Day is Done - Nick Drake (Cover)

In 2019 we did a small revival of my old Nick Drake covers and recorded some of my own songs in a bavarian homestead.

Initially came to this channel 5 million years ago because Tobias was doing some pretty incredible interpretations of Drake. Along the way he has become a pretty fascinating composer in his own right. This is a terrifically executed rendition of a ND song (most likely about death of course). I really don’t know anyone else who can come as close to the ND tone as Tobias can. I’m all ears if anyone knows someone but for me it’s Tobias.

I first happened to see your cover of the song that was uploaded almost 10 years ago, the I saw this one and start feeling blue for some reason. I think this time span synergizes with the leitmotif of the song now, state of fading and passing
Nick was the favourite musician of a well-known actor Heath Ledger. He also suffered from depression, took antidepressants and eventually died of an overdose. Just before his death he made a video on one of Nick's songs, a really dire one to me.
You're doing a great work posting this music for us to enjoy!

I've think I've watched all of the nick Drake covers, in the absence of live videos of the man himself this is the closest you'll get. You just seem to get it, wonderfully talented and gently placed playing and singing with the lightest of touch
