I think the Yamamoto matchup would depend largely on whether or not Zanka no Tachi would be capable of destroying Gerard's Quincy cross core, the presumed heart of the Soul King. If it couldn't then Gerard would just endlessly revive and grow stronger until Yamamoto would just be crushed, but if a direct hit could eradicate the cross completely then I could actually see Yama taking a win since Gerard is just such a massive target.

I see everyone talking about how recently Kubo said that destroying his cross is how to defeat Gerard. Please remember the way Kubo said it because to me it matters. The English translation was "He could be beaten if the cross inside him was destroyed. If only you could destroy it..." Nobody is destroying that cross guys.

Remember, adult bankai Toshiro froze the cross and suspended its ability, and then soul palace power up Byakuya bankai "destroyed" it, there was nothing left. However the Miracle was not deactivated and the cross still survived. Nobody is destroying that cross guys. IF ONLY IT COULD BE DESTROYED.

With Kubo's new info pertaining to Gerard's core cross, Zaraki and Yama would have the best chances of killing Gerard due to Zaraki having the strongest blade that can cut thru anything(ch.578 pg.5)and Yama having a bankai(Zanka No Tachi-East)that can erase whatever it hits. Without the new info...in total agreement.

He is the most powerful sternritter and i even doubt if even ichigo would be able to take him out, the dude just evoles into bigger forms from damage taken and also develops resistance to the experienced attacks, he was defeated only because yhwach took away his power.
