One of my most favourite female singers ever...she sings without effort and doesn't feel the need to do crazy runs, just pure voice. Maybe I'm biased being Canadiann but she's such a talent! :D

What i love about K. D. Lang is she has great range, power & control with her voice. She never over sings just to show you that she can hit sky high notes. Never does ridiculous unnecessary vocal runs just to prove that she can. Her voice is smooth, warm & intentional. One of the best voices ever.

She doesn't ornament her songs with lots of runs, but she places the notes perfectly and makes it interesting by varying the volume and vibrato. Listen for the swells and pulling back that gives this song its beautiful colour.

I’m a Canadian music biz veteran (and so blessed to be so!) I saw KD in Calgary at the very beginning of her career. Then, I got to work on a KD recording in the 90’s.
Her voice is incredible, and as respected as she is, she’s still vastly underrated, in the catalogue of top tier female vocalists!
