2017 Kia Optima Hybrid EX - POV Day & Night Driving Impressions (Binaural Audio)

Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly test vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, you'll see! Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Apologies if you mentioned this, but another feature I enjoy is when you reverse, the side view mirrors automatically lower for a better view.

Wiper service mode is: Turn the car on than off. With in 3-5 seconds of turning the car completely off tap the wiper stalk once then you enter wiper service mode.

I noticed you cut out the portion when you started driving it in Sport mode, would have liked to hear more about how you found that mode. A lot of folks think all hybrids are slow, this car’s performance in all mode is pretty good. I’ve had sales folks trying to talk me out of test driving a hybrid and was really surprised how it performed once we were on the test drive. With this car’s sport mode, it’s a good performer, it would do better with some 18” wheel and tires plus better springs and stabilizer bars to lessen the roll, not that it’s horrible as is, but it could better for those of us that like to drive that way.

I'm happy Kia is mostly sticking with regular automatic transmissions. I don't really like CVT's

Nice review! Nice car, loaded with options at a fair price. No CVT is a plus! Thanks for the light display. Hide-away wipers are nice for aerodynamics and looks. You should be able to turn on the wipers, then just turn the car off when wipers are in the vertical position.

I have an opportunity to buy a 2017 Kia optima EX hybrid with 53, 000 miles. However I'm hesitant because I have heard that somewhere down the line I may be on the hook for paying about 8k for a new hybrid battery. Is that something I should be worried about? If so, is it worth the investment in this car?
