The Evolution and Diversification of Sharks - Shark Week 2023

Показать описание
When Sharks are brought up or mentioned, many of us mainly picture the larger species, like the tiger and great white sharks, though what most know of them is actually a very small slice of their true diversity, with many exhibiting very distinct body plans, dietary preferences and habitats to what we usually think of them having.

So, to start off this year's shark week, it seems apt therefore to go over just how wide-ranging and diverse they are before delving into more specific species, many of which that will later be covered are also extinct. I hope you enjoy this years Shark Week!

So... Carcharodon carcharias isn't a Charchariniform, it's a Lamniform.

There was a bug on YouTube and when I clicked on the notification on my phone the video was 1 hour long, of course it went back to being a short 2 minutes

I went into this video expecting it to discuss prehistoric shark species and how modern species came from them. Can't help but feel just a tad disappointed to be honest.
