James Collen -- 'Forever Love' Amherst Records 1990

Показать описание
This was the second of two singles that I recorded for Amherst Records in 1990. Originally the "B" side to "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight", a decision was made to promote this track to radio and it eventually ended up getting much more airplay and requests.
I liked recording this song much better than "Wonder" and felt it was a little closer to who I was as an artist and showed off more of my ability at the time. It also afforded me the chance to perform at shows with Tiffany, Elisa Fiorillo and Jaya.
After these two songs, it came time to see if I would have a chance to record again. Producer Donny Raiser had talked about my covering Todd Rundgren's "Can We Still Be Friends", I had a demo of a song called "Piece of My Heart" (a sort of Cheap Trick 'The Flame'-esque power ballad) and Amherst records label head Lenny Silver played me a Diane Warren-penned ballad originally intended for Glenn Medeiros whose name escapes me. At the end of the day, the label decided not to continue with me and I eventually began working on the radio career that I still have to this day.
Although short-lived, my time as an artist was so much fun and it absolutely charted a new course for my life and gave me a better perspective of the business and the artists who chase their dreams doing it.
