It was so refreshing to escape to the Antiquities departments from the perpetualy overcrowded and noisy Hall 6 (Mona Lisa). Ancient Egypt Department of Le Louvre is magnificent as well.

I'd love nothing more than to travel to see the museums. Maybe one day I can afford it. Right now, even domestic isnt feasible.

Unfortunately the Pergamon museum in Berlin closed for 10+ years :( there you could see the gate of Ishtar, which is just incredibly beautiful

Me and my wife visited the Louvre for our honeymoon. Got only 2 hours in total, ran through as much as we could, including the Egyptian and Mesopotamian parts... it wasn't enough, of course.
A decade later, my wife became a student in ancient Mesopotamia, and her Uni organized a trip to Louvre with the focus on the subject. We've spent 3 days barely paying any attention to anything outside of Mesopotamia. We've still barely scratched the surface.

But holy moly, standing so close to such an extraordinary epic ancient artifact as the Codex Hammurabi is just beyond... 😵❤️
