World leaders virtually spoke at the 2021 Climate Adaptation Summit on Monday, stressing the importance of tackling the global climate change problem, and outlined what their nations could do to contribute to the fight.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered a message on planning “for the recovery of tomorrow” for future generations in terms of the COVID-19 aftermath, the economy, and climate change. Trudeau stressed the importance of leaving the planet in good shape for future generations in terms of the state of the global environment.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said as part of his remarks that the country is targeting a capacity of 450 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030.

Failing to prevent climate change will cost developing countries US$300 billion by 2030, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned. In his recorded address to the Climate Adaptation Summit in Amsterdam Johnson said, "Prevention is not only better than cure, it's cheaper, too."

Plus, South Korean President Moon Jae-in spoke about how his country will reduce green house gas emissions.

This online event, hosted by the Netherlands aims to set out practical solutions and plans for dealing with climate change in the period until 2030. Ahead of the summit, more than 3,000 scientists from across the globe pressed leaders to better protect people from the fall out of global warming.

Climate adaptation summit too this week? World Economic Forum's Davos Agenda summit is concurrently taking place, plenty of talks already posted to their channel today trying to keep up with.

An excellent opportunity to dine and wine with birds of a feather - nothing more. They will repeat the same hocus pocus next time around.

What I think would help with climate change, is lower the speed limits down to 50 miles per hour. Just think of all the emissions that would not be put into the atmosphere by driving slower. Plus all the lives that would be saved by driving slower, win win situation.

This summit is described as the last, best hope to screw over the working class and middle class with an increase in taxes and pointless regulations. Way to go Canada !!!

India is talking about climate change mitigation in a summit about climate change adaptation. Renewable energy won't save coastal towns from being destroyed this year. The speech was almost an exact replica of the speech from the climate ambition summit last month, which is fine only if the objectives of both summits were the same. Which it wasn't.

Funny thing that, world leaders stressing the importance of tackling climate change, and there I was thinking they were all about neo-liberal doctrine and were in desperate need of learning how to think outside the box.
I must have been wrong again.

While USA turn blind eyes to polution and deforestation. In Brazil, follow the unfair exchange rate overvaluation imposed by followed governments (socialist and out right progressive) of the agribusiness devastating of the economy (removing the purchaising power of that population) and the environment. Trump lied when promised surcharge brazilians commodities in face of the deliberate devaluation of that national currency (USA did not it in prejudice to international competition), tomorow it is Bidem's turn to believe in the false promises of the brazilian government to the environment. Wake up CE! ...as long as there is no international boycott or return to that country's foreign exchange balance is not restored, we will live with deforestation - in fact, it is a big neo-colonilist business to pay for the production of commodities in a devalued 'Real' and sell then in dollars, but this has a price for amazonic biome. Brazilian socialist governments have deceived everyone for decades by promising clean energy (Fuel) while they deforesting almost the intire Atlantic Forest biome to plant suggar cane. Now, the current government (out right) negacionist of global warming has already destroyed (burned) the wetlands (pantanal biome) to raise cattle (ox). The electoral scenary for 2022 promises Lula (agribusines, socialism and corruption) x Bolosonaro (agribusiness, national champions subsidized and negacionism) while main TV stations relentlessly the slogan: "agro is pop, agro is tech, agro is all"
