Bali Covid-19 Update: November10, 2021: Indonesia Considering Vaccine Travel Lane With Neighboring Countries

As expected (unfortunately) no news on international airlines scheduling flights here this month and no travel bookings, although the streets are busy. It seems Bali will have to rely on domestic tourists for the near future. With multiple holidays already in process, this will be a time to watch the number of new cases, which so far have been excellent. The news from Thailand and Singapore with their openings to international tourists is positive. And, while I'm not feeling pumped today (mostly because a storm is rolling in), I am feeling very positive. Still hoping for good news next month.

If you are already here or plan on coming soon, please don't forget to follow the rules, be polite even if you find some of the protocols burdensome, and remember to be kind to someone today. Also, don't forget to subscribe if you want notification on new videos about Bali, Singaraja, anthropology or my take on fun tech stuff to use in Bali. Thanks for viewing.

Thank you Bruce….our numbers are very good…..Thailand has done well with so many tourists and few infections…I’ve had an electric bicycle now in Bali for the past seven years…the local bikes are inexpensive and cost little to operate…the only problems I have had has been batteries and battery replacement….stay safe as always…👍

Thanks Bruce. Appreciate the thoroughness you always put in to these. I know you always point out that some numbers give are for the target group only. In Australia we can vaccinate people 12 and over but vaccination numbers presented are only ever for those in the target group of I think 16 and over but may even be over 16. So really there is a huge gap to full vaccination even in NSW where they report being at 95% double vax'd.
Keep well mate.

Appreciate the update! (as always) If you're interested in recording in less than ideal environments, a lav mic is a pretty cost effective tool. They usually run around $20-25 for a decent example, $60 gets you a fancy one. On it's own, the mic should make a decent impact. If you pair it up with OBS (an open-source broadcasting software), a noise gate and suppression filters? You'll be able to cut out like 90% of the background noise.

More than happy to help you out if you'd like! I'm not a power user but I use OBS everyday at work and Twitch streams on the weekend. (I'd rate myself familiar++)

hello Bruce,

I want to come to Bali from the Netherlands; so are there special restrictions for travelers out of the Netherlands. If I enter Indonesia in Jakarta then I've to stay for 3 days in quaratine there.... then I can go for Bali. Do I have to do quarantine there to?

Thanks again Bruce and was curious when I saw the 2 nights quarantine before listed for Jakarta, you have just confirmed it,
I was looking at that all Indonesian built motorbike ( gesits) and there checking sites to build or assemble these in Bali, and noticed the price Rp 24.95 million, but more of interest was the charging was under 100w and could be charged at home ?
Great to see your family involved with the up coming new world
Be interesting to no about the charging
And everyone from Australia can fly if fully vaxed
But 3 states Laging and have 2 week quarantine rules if these people from these states go out and want to go home
So that is still a deterrent to a lot here

Hi, Bruce
I am from Azerbaijan. We want to visit Bali for honemoon with my fiance in mid-December. We are fully vaccinated.
Should we first stay in Jakarta for 2 days and then come to Bali? I am too disappointed to here it :(

See no other reason than the govt trying to boost the hotel industry for the mandatory 2 nights quarantine. Once they see how successful Thailand's new process they will loosen the restrictions/quarantine and implement something that makes more sense.
