omtech Polar 350 50W Desktop Laser Engraver Upgrade For My Channel Part 1

This is the first of a series of videos documenting my experience with the brand new omtech Polar 350 Laser Engraver. This one starts with receiving the unit, reporting shipping damage, unpacking, specs, hooking up the external vent, and a look inside under the covers. omtech is the leader in the field for personal and small business Co2 laser engravers making me feel confident about the quality of their products and support. This machine was provided to my channel to be used in videos to document from unpacking to how it stands up over time. I will on only produce honest videos about the setup, use, and maintenance of this machine that are all my content to hopefully help you decide if this type of machine will fit your needs for home or small business use. I think this may be the best offering in this class of lasers available today based on price, capability, Laser tube life, offline operation, and quality. I am new to Co2 lasers so we all will be learning together.

Wow that laser looks amazing, can't wait for you to give it to me, I wish lol. I haven't checked the link just yet but I'm going to, I've heard a lot of good about omtech but another one is monport, Louisiana Hobby Guy, Rich swears by his. Haven't been on here in a while so I I'm going to binge your channel to get caught up. Love your videos and content, can't wait to see more about this laser. Take care my friend.

For a guy that said he's not getting any new tools you sure get a lot of new tools.
You know I'm just poking fun at

Thanks for the great video - it is the first one I have watched about the Omtech Polar that shows all the unpacking and all the items that come with the unit. And, seeing the inside was an extra bonus. I ordered an Omtech Polar on March 6th, so I am watching as many videos of the unit as I can. This will be my first encounter with a laser engraver & cutter machine. The only ones I have seen were those at gifts shops that use them to engrave personalized stuff. I am 68 and just retired, but have a lifetime of working with wood and other handyman stuff, so I'm not completely ignorant. And, I have been using home computers since 1984, when I bought my first Apple IIc. So, it won't be too much of a learning curve. I'll watch a few more of your videos and probably subscribe. I do have one question - I know that you didn't order your unit, but approximately how long did it take to get to you? Thanks, Charlie in Central Ohio

This is going to be very interesting, thanks for taking us along.
Were those boot prints on the top of the crate? No wonder it was caved in.

Really looking forward to the future videos on this machine. Someone local claims to have an almost new Muse Core for sale, but it lacks the autofocus and the used asking price is equivalent to this machines new price. Need to jump up to the Muse Core 3d at 2x the cost for some of the features this machine has... I'm curious if you find something like autofocus and the nicer camera worth it... I'd have to get the local Muse Core price down quite a bit before I'd really consider used, as chances are I'd be without a warranty... It's also a confidence booster that Omtech is letting you speak freely on your thoughts... Time to do some extra research to really compare the two. Thanks for the videos.

Hello there. I'm going to watch all 3 parts of this. I currently have a Monport 55w CO2. I'm looking to acquire another laser for a backup or overflow work. Mainly tumblers and glassware. Is there enough depth to place a rotary in there for tumblers? I see at 5:25 you say you "bought" 2 different rotary's for this. Correct? Why 2? One won't do 20oz and 30oz tapered tumblers ? Just trying to follow along. Thanks

Good stuff! I was going to buy an electric hoist recently and I remember you had a video for the manual one you used in this video and can't find it.
If you can, post an affiliate link for that. I have sooo many videos I want to film and post, but two things stop me.
I feel overwhelmed with everything going on and never get to it and second, I feel I will lose the audience since I was mainly an Air Fryer channel.
Keep up the great content in 2023!

Watched one of your videos on engraving glass..

Interested in where you purchased the Ruida machine console how it's connected/mounted... Did you do a video on that somewhere? Was hoping it was in this video. :(

Looks like a very nice machine.... I have a 5030 China Blue from OMTech, I've modified... Take care

I am assuming you have a “walkout” basement/garage shop? I can’t see how could get laser or other shop equipment we see in videos down any basement stairs.

Loved the vid! I just recieved mine and seems I might be having an issue, when you turn the unit on do you have air coming through the laser head? With mine on I hear nothing coming from the air pump and no air coming through.

So you said acrylic is expensive, around here everyone is taking down their acrylic might be able to get it before they toss it

Those look like a true alternative to glow forge. Would love to see glow forge suffer a bit for being so over priced and their terrible subscription based business model.

Very poor, rude, and uninformed customer service. Do not purchase an OMTech Laser. Falling apart (literally) and it’s going to take “three days for a technician to call you back.” Spend your money elsewhere!
