Can’t comment on the previous version but I picked up this version in S build w/ the GX drivetrain. 200 miles on the bike. Really high quality and fun bike, punches above its pay grade on the descents. Feels like more than 130 and burlier than most bikes in this category but still very playful and loads of fun. Grip with the DHRs is off the charts but slows it down a bit so I’ll go to faster rubber later. Overall super happy with the purchase.

When I saw all the new 5010 video titles in my recommendation list, I had that pit in my stomach given that I purchaed the 5010 V3 in March. But I'm glad I have the last of the 5010s because the new one sure resembles a Bronson etc and kind of loses the "BMX" of MTB category in my opinion. Love my 5010.

what a gorgeous bike.. i recently wrecked parts of my current bike and was looking for a new one (while also fixing the current) but was initially eyeing the nomad.. but i always thought the 5010 would be better for me and now with the new look i need to get my hands on a test bike as fast as possible!

I love my V3 5010, but they just keep getting heavier. 31lbs for a 130mm travel $5/$6k build?! And I’m pretty sure Santa Cruz at one point said that an upper link is better suited for short travel bikes, what changed their mind I wonder?

Been throwing around thoughts of my next acquisition and I'm thinking 5010, SB165, Mojo4, Switchblade and a few others but when you said Rockshox Reverb dropper & Pike, I'm done.

I absolutely hate the longer CSL on the larger size. Short CS was the reason to go with the 5010. Oh well, maybe my 2019 V3 will last forever.
