There truly is no resisting the masculine urge... To restore a steam locomotive to operational condition.

You should bring some people together to revive this beautiful machine

As a machinist/tool maker, it amazes me how they hand built every precise part on that machine 100 years ago with NO CNC's. Pure skill and experience.

Do it. I haven't done the leg work... But I feel like project steam locomotive is an untapped genre on YouTube.

I was riveted by all the serious historical information and details. Then that grin when he stuck his head in the firebox caught me off guard and gave me a chuckle, both times I watched it.

My grandfather worked at the Vulcan iron works plant in Wilkes-Barre, Pa for a while and that building is still in use as a recycling and scrap center.

The Georgia museum of agriculture has an operating Vulcan steam locomotive. Keith Rucker on YT vintage machinery has video's as he just fitted new bearings to the connecting rods.

Years ago I worked on the 618 out of Heber Utah. Coal fired standard gauge. Most awesome job I’ve ever had.

Specifically a Vulcan Iron Works locomotive, not to be confused with a Vulcan Foundry locomotive.

Having seen that engine in person and taken a very close look at it, it definitely deserves to be saved. Build a tender for it, and go run it at Stettler!

The Fort Steele heritage town in BC might soon be in need of a new locomotive... they might be the ones for this!

Using sand in an upper reservoir that can be siphoned to the wheels on the track for grip is such a genius idea. Man I love engineers, machinists and mechanics.
