How Qualifiers Work In DaVinci Resolve 15

We go over how to use a HSL qualifier with other nodes like a layer node. I also dive into the other qualifiers as well. We get into the problems we run into using this tool as well as other tools we can use to make similar adjustments like the Hue Vs Hue, Hue Vs Lum and the Hue Vs Sat. #DaVinciResolve

Great video. Thanks for pointing to the manual, showing how too often manuals provide very little information on "how" to use tools within a program. Which is why I'm a big fan of video tutorials, where you watch someone use the tools of a program building a better understanding of the power of the tools. In the past, user communities were much more hostile towards questions about using a program. Many times when you would ask a question, people would throw the "RTFM" (Read The F---ing Manual) comment in your face, instead of simply answering the question. Thankfully, user communities are friendlier nowadays. At least most of the ones I encounter.

Just one thing I often miss.
When you turn a feature off/on, it goes too fast for me to pick it up (as at 7:16 approx).
I'm not sure whether this is because of the difference in newbie/professional eyes, or perhaps the recording software/compression software doesn't pick it up.

You talked about compression from prosumer cameras and how they make artifacts. I'm going to be doing an edit of RED 4.7k footage with I think a 12:1 compression ratio (8:1?) Do you see these artifacts with pro camera compression? Is there a way to decompress and avoid that if so? Thanks for all of the great videos, they are abundantly helpful.

Hey Jay I use those Matt controls for abit of keying green screen helps shrink the Matt or expand it but don’t really use much of it. But thanks for video as always very informative keep it bro .
