There are quite a few cities in Asia that are world renowned for their street food, Georgetown in Penang is one of them. It's an absolute food heaven combining Malaysian Food, Indian Food & Chinese Food, what a glorious mix. I didn't care about anything else apart from eating whilst I was there, so here is my list of top 8 things you must eat when you're in Penang.

1 - Asam Laksa at Joo Hooi Cafe.
2 - Chendul at Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul
3 - Nasi Kandar at Deen’s Maju
4 - Koay Teow at No 82 Siam Road
5 - Fried oyster omelette ‘Oh Chien’ at Song River on Gurney Drive.
6 - Nasi Lemak at Ali Nasi Lemak
7 - Hokkien Mee at 888.
8 - Durian

One small correction. Assam laksa doesn't contain coconut milk; in fact, it is cooked using fish.

Laksa uses tamarind for flavour....not coconut...I believe...nice video...tq

No no no...no chicken, prawn or coconut milk in Penang asam laksa. The mere descriptor asam implies tamarind based soup. In other states including Singapore, laksa maybe a variation of Penang's curry mee/noodles where coconut milk is used.
