DONATE? - Dear followers! It is great fun having a successful channel, thanks! But it also costs a lot of time and money. I do not get any compensation from the Dutch Railways. While Youtube spams my videos with commercials, they get rich while I am doing all the work. Did you know that, according to this channel’s statistics, a single viewer has to watch 75 minutes to generate only 0,01 USD? So please click on the Paypal link and keep the Cabview Holland and Train Driver's POV trains on the track. Thanks for your support!

This is the first time I've seen filming from inside a train's cockpit
I love trains because it give the opportunity to see the charming landscapes and villages
Great job and great video, thank you .

That “steering wheel” is actually to control the speed of the train.

Very impressive and proper cab ride video showing not just the line ahead but also the cab controls as seen on every single plane cockpit view. Hope to get more similar content on this channel as this rare feature primes for its exclusivity. Liked and subscribed

Fact : The steering Is not use for change the direction of the train wheel rather it is use for speeding the train.

A little bit of technical details. No train expert, so I something is wrong, feel free to correct me (or slap me on the butt). This is one of my favourite control configurations, the unofficially called "step and field". The lever on the right is controlling the train by braking it or by moving it trough various steps of speeds (step control), in fixed positions. It will be interesting to see the engine configuration. The "wheel" is the field control. With that, the driver can control the acceleration for each step, and is build as a wheel probably for fine control. If I recall correctly, the lever controls the frequency of the engine stator and is the equivalent of a car gears, while the wheel control the voltage inside each step, and is basically a throttle.
I think the levers under the wheel are the emergency brakes (with the gauges being probably vacuum level indicators?).
Thank you for coming to this TED Talk and feel free to add or correct.

Love the steering wheel. I bet that train takes the corners like it's on rails...

I love when he took off his hands of the round wheel but the train was still following the track, and stopped at the next station smoothly.

I can’t believe I’ve never once searched for a pov video of a train’s cockpit, this was pretty interesting to watch

The median for stops is around 4-5 minutes, that’s crazy! Such an efficient public transport system!
