Mr. Addams is a genius; using charity auctions as money flaunting scheme to moisten up his Mrs.; his property remains his own, he reminds his wife he's insanely wealthy and is randily rewarded for it, he rubs that wealth in the other well-to-do's faces, and the charity recipients get their aid.
