What a lot of people don't know, is The Date clan was one of the major clans to receive guns and Christianity, and Believe or not, (up to you, look it up) Date Masamune and his family converted to Christianity themselves, until Tokugawa Ieyasu banned everything foreign and demanded all Christian Daimyo to renounce or step down. However I cannot say for sure if his family renounced or not, no records I read said whether they did or not.

This is worth repeating. The European ships kick the crap out of even the best Japanese ships in this game. Christianity in Shogun 2 will give you absolute naval supremacy.

And if you're Otomo, you get all gunpowder units relatively quickly, with upgrades and the unique units as well.

@ReconFox You can slowly do it by putting down rebellions, or you can put a monk or priest in charge of a city to speed up the conversion process.

I like the military unit and agent videos. They give the characters some personality.

+BFBC22 The agents work like Rock Paper Scissors. Metsuke are strong against ninjas, but monks are good against Metsuke and the ninjas are strong against monks.

@mazzamattproful the roads and ports don't do much to control population. Make sure your province is the same religion as your clan, if most your provinces are one religion and your clan's religion is not the same, you may want to convert the clan religion. Otherwise, put metsukes in the towns and monks to help convert the population, and upp the garrison.

does no-one mention how much easier it gets to get gunners for a low cost and quickly on in the game?
(which are great when expecting a charge from your enemy, which will happen mostly when you're army isn't going to be as big as his)
